Community Cultural Policy Plan Ready For Public Input

Public Workshops Set For May 26 And 27

The latest draft of the Kingston Community Cultural Policy Plan
(KCCPP) is now ready to be presented to the public for input and revision.

This document, that will shape the next ten years of cultural
development in Kingston will be the subject of discussion at two
upcoming public workshops to be held in the Press Lounge at
Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, 53 Yonge St. on:

* Wednesday, May 26, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
* Thursday, May 27, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

"We would really like to thank all those people who have participated
in this effort in September and again in January. Your support,
comments and ideas are helping to create a really compelling and
dynamic plan that will benefit Kingston residents and visitors alike
for many years to come," says Colin Wiginton, Manger of Cultural Services.

He emphasizes that the success of the KCCPP continues to depend on
the involvement of the community, including members of the arts,
culture and heritage communities, local businesses and institutions,
service and voluntary organizations and individual residents.

The purpose of the public workshops on May 26 and 27 will be to share
the content of the draft KCCPP, to outline how community feedback has
been considered, and to ask for additional input that will be used to
refine the plan. Following the public workshops the completed KCCPP
will be distributed to participants and made available online and
further input sought in order to finalize the plan.

Residents interested in keeping up with the progress of the KCCPP can

Community Cultural Policy Plan mailing list.
