TICK, TICK…BOOM! PREMIERES IN KINGSTON

Blue Canoe Productions presents the autobiographical story of Jonathan Larson, creator of RENT, in June at the Baby Grand Theatre

KINGSTON – May 7, 2010 – Blue Canoe Productions presents it's 10th show this June. Tick, Tick…BOOM! has never been performed in Kingston before and is coming to the Baby Grand with a 7 person cast comprised of Kingston youth. The show originated as a one-man piece, performed by Jonathan Larson himself, and was transformed to a three-person musical after his death in 1996.

A rock musical from its inception, Tick, Tick…BOOM! challenges many traditional aspects of musical theatre, and Blue Canoe hopes to continue challenging the norm in new ways. This story is one of following your dreams and when it is time to let go of those dreams.

Blue Canoe has always focused on providing theatre experience for Kingston youth and this show will continue to push the performers involved. This cast is composed of extremely talented and dedicated individuals and promises to be a strong production for the company's 10th show celebration.
