'Hooked' women confront addictions to Hitler, murder, drugs, sex and alcohol
Carolyn SmartKingston poet Carolyn Smart's latest collection of poems, Hooked, takes on the remarkable voices of seven famous and infamous women, each beset by obsession and addiction. Now, Smart's good friend and actress Nicky Guadagni, under the direction of Layne Coleman, transforms the poems into an unforgettable theatrical evening at Kingston WritersFest.
Nicky Guadagni brings Zelda Fitzgerald, Unity Mitford and other obsessed women to life
Nicki GuadagniToronto actress Nicky Guadagni recognized the stage potential of Hooked the moment she read it. "I had an unmistakable attack of greed. I wanted to play all those seven women and say every one of those words."

"Everyone has a hook," says Smart, author of 5 books of poetry and winner of the CBC Literary Contest. "It only takes emotion to reveal it."
